CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

Concrete, Concrete And More Concrete!

Construction onsite is progressing smoothly and on schedule. All the concrete pad footings and piers have now been completed and slab-on-grade pours in the parkades will be taking place throughout January. Wall forming has progressed to the second floor on the West building and will continue advancing eastward over the coming weeks.

Our construction team worked diligently and safely throughout the harsh weather over the holiday period and we’re excited to share more of their progress very soon.

You might be wondering, why are the walls blue? These are the ICF blocks that comprise the majority of the structural walls of the building. ICF stands for Insulating Concrete Forms and this material has several advantages over conventional cast-in-place concrete methodology. ICF is easy to erect, remains in place after construction and offers superior acoustic and energy efficiency properties.

Promising Outlook For 2023 Market

Speaking to the Canadian Mortgage Professional outlet, RE/MAX Canada president Christopher Alexander expressed his optimism about the Canadian housing market for the coming year.

He cited the scarcity of inventory as being one of the primary positive signs for housing prices as the typical flood of new listings during a market downturn hasn’t eventuated. Good news for investors and owners alike!
