High Demand for Recreational Homes

The Globe and Mail recently published an article highlighting the high demand for recreational properties in Canada.

They note that remote work schedules and a surge in people taking up outdoor hobbies have led to a supercharged desire for recreational homes, driving up prices and lowering supply. Realtors in Canadian cities close to mountains, lakes or beaches report hot real estate markets, with agents highlighting a lack of inventory in Banff, Canmore and Muskoka.

In Ontario, one agent cites the geographic restrictions impacting supply, noting the difficulties in adding inventory due to the lack of true waterfront property available.
