It’s no secret that MDM Developments loves Creemore and its four-season lifestyle. With the upcoming release of our second building at Creemore Condos, we will be providing more affordable and maintenance-free living options for locals and newcomers alike… so we wanted to create a guide for all our future homeowners when they’re looking for things to do in Creemore.
Read on to learn about some of our favourite things to do and see in the small town with a big heart.
First thing’s first: Where should you eat when you’re in Creemore? We still highly recommend Chez Michel and La Cucina Quince for their delicious pastas, paellas, fusions and more.
Next time you’re looking for something to eat in Creemore, why not visit The Old Mill House Pub for classic bar staples that pair well with a Creemore Springs beer. If you’re craving something baked, visit either The Bank Café or the much beloved Creemore Bakery, both offering an assortment of desserts to appeal to any sweet tooth.
Creemore is known for being perfectly situated in Simoce County among many natural wonders everyone can enjoy. You can snowshoe the Mingay Loop at the Creemore Nature Reserve, a quick 6-minute drive from Creemore Condos. If you prefer skis or snowboards, you can hit the slopes at Blue Mountain, just 30 minutes from town, the perfect distance for many day trips when the resort is open—or check out Highlands Nordic, Ontario’s premier cross country ski centre in Duntroon, only a 15 minute drive from Creemore. Whether you want to watch the river, play on a jungle gym, or sit amongst some beautiful scenery, Creemore has multiple parks in town residents can walk to, including Mad River Park on George St., or the recently revamped Creemore Village Green.
When the mood strikes you and you’re craving a night on the town, there are always things to do in and around Creemore. Downtown Creemore is home to many excellent businesses like Miller Island, Creemore Springs Brewery and the 100 Mile Store, as well as Heirloom 142, Curiosity House Books, and The Keep Refillery, each with their own collection of excellent gifts, housewares, and more. Not to mention the Creemore Farmer’s Market, which is open in every season!
Located just a 5-minute walk from Creemore Condos is the renowned Creemore Rec Centre, known for hosting lively hockey games with the Creemore Coyotes. The Arena is also a great place for a skate with the family, or a curl, as Creemore’s Curling Club has their own sheets and offers many options for all levels.
For the history buff, Creemore is even home to North America’s Smallest Jail with a reconstructed 1870s Log Cabin next door. Historians can enjoy the walking tour put together by The Purple Hills Arts and Heritage Society; you can download the brochure here or browse around your favourite businesses in town for each historical plaque.
One of the best things about Creemore is its ready access to all your everyday essentials on top of the other fabulous things to do in town! Creemore has its own Foodland and LCBO to prepare you for any get together, as well as an IDA, hair studio, public library, and more—there’s even a Home Hardware downtown so that you can easily track down any DIY needs. When you want to show off your new hometown but don’t want to share your brand-new condo, you can book your guests a night at any of the fabulous B&Bs in town, like Emily’s Place, Creemore Comforts, or Angel House, each with their own cozy offerings for tourists and residents alike.
From the wonderful shops of the downtown strip to the many outdoor adventure opportunities available year-round, residents of Creemore can look forward to many fun experiences in and around town. Homeowners at Creemore Condos will be able to walk to their favourite restaurants, parks, ice rinks and shops any time of year!
